Draft 1 June 9, 1953 MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD SUBJECT: Project Sparta
These are the letters that were passed between Sidney Gottilieb (he/him), Chief of the Chemical Division at the Central Intelligence Agency, and Dr. Levi Levi, living as Dr. Johan Engelbert and teaching at George Mason University, during May of 1953
This was part of an unpublished memoir found in Dr. Levi Levi’s possession when he died in 1985. It is uncertain when he began writing this.
As I write this, it has been five years since the Central Intelligence Agency confirmed what the world had already suspected: that the CIA had carried out Project Sparta.
